What Sets Us Apart

Neurosurgery (known also as neurological surgery) is the surgical specialty focused on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders that affect the spine, brain, nervous system and peripheral nerves.

Neurosurgeons are medical specialists

  • Extensive Education and Training (four years in an accredited medical school, one-year internship and five to seven year residency program serve as a solid, distinctive foundation for their practice and, in the medical profession, set them apart).
  • Expertise (the intricate, specialized procedures our neurosurgeons perform require unparalleled skill which enables them to utilize some of the most sophisticated techniques in medicine, such as three dimensional brain imaging and stereotactic radiosurgery).
  • Board Certification (all our neurosurgeons maintain Board Certification through the American Board of Neurological Surgery, which has extensive requirements for certification and continuing education, keeping our doctors on the cutting edge of the neurosurgical field).

Our onsite, unique, multi-specialty clinic brings together providers from various backgrounds and clinical expertise. This clinic was created with a vision to be Northern New England’s premier diagnostic and treatment center for spine and musculoskeletal disorders and to complement the neurosurgery practice. The physicians, physician’s assistants and nurse practitioners in our spine center work together as a team to create the very highest standards in patient care.

This is the standard of excellence for Maine Medical Partners Neurosurgery & Spine
