Myelogram Discharge Instructions
- After myelogram, elevate head 30-40 degrees for next 48 hours (Do not lay flat), getting up to use the bathroom only. Increase your fluids to help move the dye out of your system.
- On the next day, you may be out of bed. If you develop a headache after being out of bed, return to bed and lay flat.
- Call the Radiology Department (1.207.871.2571) if within the next 24-36 hours you experience:
- Persistent vomiting
- Temperature above 101 degrees or shaking chills
- Headache not relieved by Tylenol
- Seizures
Please inform the Radiology Staff that you have had a myelogram and ask for the Radiologist on call. A message may be taken and you will be contacted by the Radiologist.
