Dr. Robert D. Ecker, a fellowship trained endovascular neurosurgeon, is the newest member of the Maine Medical Partners Neurosurgery & Spine team, specializing in treating brain aneurysm and stroke patients, as well as general neurosurgery. He is currently the only sub-specialist of his kind in the state of Maine, and his unique ability to perform complex procedures in the brain allows Maine Medical Center to care for brain aneurysm and stroke patients in a whole new way. Many patients now will not have to travel to Boston to receive the treatment they need.
Dr. Ecker comes to us from the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda,Maryland. He performed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and his endovascular fellowship at the University at Buffalo,New York. When he isn’t caring for patients or conducting clinical research, Dr. Ecker enjoys cycling and scuba diving, and spending time with his wife and children.
We are honored to have Dr. Ecker practicing at MMP Neurosurgery & Spine and believe his specialized expertise will enable patients to receive the most current technologies, in a timelier fashion, at home in the state of Maine.
